The best way to clean wood venetian blinds is with a clean cloth or paper towel. Wipe each blind slat evenly to remove dust and dirt on an weekly basis. The cloth should be clean and made from cotton or other soft materials.  A feather duster is another excellent way to clean real wood blinds so that they are not scratched and damaged. Spray the feather duster with furniture polish and dust each vertical wooden slat carefully. Do all the blinds and be sure to remove dirt and dust from the feather duster. Dust real wood with lemon oil to give them a beautiful shine that show the wood grain. A soft clean dish towel or dust cloth will work wonders on your wood blinds. If you wood blinds are painted then use a wood safe cleaning agent and cloth that won’t scratch the paint.

There are different type of wood blinds like fake wood blinds. You can clean them with a vacuum cleaner and brush attachment that often comes as an attachment. You can clean these blinds with mild soap and soft sponge. Use a bucket of water add the soap and go town. Let those blinds dry keep them clean and looking sharp. Remember to never wash real wood blinds with water as it will warp the finish of the wood. Don’t own a vacuum cleaner with attachment then soft cloth or white cotton gloves to wipe those wood slats off work great. On tough to remove dust use a damp cloth on those wood blinds.

Wood blinds will warp if they are exposed to too much water. They can, however, be washed while hanging in place at the window. Dampen a blind duster, a pair of absorbent gloves, or a lint-free rag with a mild detergent or an oil-based soap solution and carefully wash each side of each slat. Rinse using the same tool soaked in clear water. For each of these steps you will need to rinse out the tool often. Finish by drying the slats with a dry, lint-free cloth. Accordion and honeycomb blinds made of non-woven fabrics are easy to wash using the same method described for aluminum and vinyl blinds. Allow them to air-dry. Tip: Cut a sponge in half and put each half on the end of tongs. Grip each slat with the sponge to clean. Use a de-greaser or dish soap that has been diluted.
