What is the best way to cook my meat products?

While people have differing tastes, to fully appreciate the full flavour of our products we recommend they should not be overcooked (if not already pre-cooked – eg our cooked hams). Do not cook products straight from their packaging, but open and allow them to rest before cooking, best done by standing at room temperature on a plate and covering with foil. Cooking is then a matter of preference (see the recipe ideas on our website). How many people will one of your hams feed? Much depends on the carver and the preferences of the people who are eating it! However, as a rule of thumb, we reckon a whole ham (on the bone) of around 6kg will provide 60 to 70 slices, and a half ham about 30 servings. Our larger joints are ideal for special occasions where a large number of people need to be catered for, though a general point to remember about ham is that it doesn’t all have to be eaten in one go!
