What is the best way to introduce a new kitten into my household?”
I have had cats all my life and, at one point, I had three cats in the house for several years. The first was a 2-year old calico who was then join by a 6-week old kitten. The calico was not sure what to think about this bouncing bundle of fur, so she just avoided him at first, jumping on top of the cabinets to get as far away from him as possible. However, over the next few weeks, they got used to each other. By the end of a few months, they were best friends and slept cuddled up together. They would even clean each other and, when one was injured or getting in trouble, the other would come running to check on the first. When the third cat was introduced about eight years later, there was a little tension at first since the new arrival was only about 7 or 8 months old while the others were about 8 years old and 10 years old. However, that tension was gone in about a week or so. They all got to be very friendly and loving toward each other and would all often sleep curled up on my bed
