What is the best way to potty train my toddler and make it fun for her?

Well, I have all boys. Some say that it’s easier for boys, and some say the opposite. I say that each kid is different. I’m not so sure that you will be able to make potty training “fun”; but you can certainly minimize the pain for yourself. What I did was bring my kids into the bathroom with me every time I went. Then I would place them on the toilet to show them that it was something that we all had to do. Also, when we were awake, I wouldn’t place them in diapers. I used underwear instead. Sure there was a lot of mess; but the kids hated using it on themselves so much that they started running to the bathroom to avoid the mess. The trick is to not give in to the “easy diaper way”. It’s gonna be hard; but it works within weeks. I hope my story helps. Good luck!–And let me know how you progress!

There are definite windows of opportunity for potty training and they present themselves on and off during the toddler years. You can back off, but you want to keep the idea out there so that when the next “window” opens up for your daughter you can start training her. Try things like having a potty which you move around to different parts of the house. It will keep suggesting the idea to her. Every time you yourself go to the bathroom, you can say “I am going pee now”, let her be a part of it, show her how you wipe, flush, and hand wash if you are willing. You could let her wear training pants for a small period each day and if she pees you say “look you peed” This helps her start identifying the muscles she uses so that when she decides to train it will be easier. Once a day encouragingly offer to help her try and pee on the toilet. One day she will say yes and then off you go! When she does start, be sure you don’t expect her to go on her own.
