What is the best way to remove old wall paper glue from walls?
An inexpensive solution used to remove wall paper paste is 9 parts warm water to 1 part liquid fabric softener. Combine water and fabric softener in a large spray bottle and spray on small sections of wall. Scrap softened paste off and proceed to next section. A fabric steamer will also help soften the paste so you can remove it. After removing the residual paste, use TSP to clean the walls. The TSP will clean the walls as well as make tiny scores in the wall that will help the paint or primer to adhere to the walls. I recommend following the cleaning with TSP with a primer then paint.
