I use Remove carpet cleaner and it works really well on fresh stains, not as well on older stains. It will leave a clean spot that is too noticeable. So in your case, I'd generally recommend renting a steam cleaner and doing the entire carpet. It's certainly the most efficient way because it's faster to clean your whole carpet than to try to clean a lot of little stains by hand. And it will generally do the best job. Good luck!!
