What is the biennial review?
A. In addition to the termly reviews, JACQA will also hold a biennial, summative review of the funding advice it has given. This will provide an opportunity to take a strategic view of how the 14-19 qualifications landscape is evolving, and whether those evolutions are in line with 14-19 policy. The Government has committed to holding a Review in 2013 to consider how Diplomas, GCSEs and A levels and any other general qualifications in publicly funded settings at that point are combining to meet the needs of young people, employers and universities. JACQA’s biennial reviews of the full range of 14-19 qualifications will feed into this process.
