What is the biggest animal you have taken with rimfire ammo?
A big fat groundhog. I think, now, that I was pushing the limit on the size of animal for which a .22 LR is appropriate. Now days, I would limit my .22 hunting to nothing larger than a big old bunny. A real hunter does not push the outer envelop for the size animal for which a certain caliber is appropriate because when you do, you are increasing the probability of causing a wound rather than a clean kill. That’s not something a concientious hunter wants to do. You always should pick the right caliber for the game that you are hunting. Too big and you ruin too much meat, too little and you increase the probability for a wound rather than a clean kill.
