What is the causes of dehumanization and depersonalization?
“Dehumanization” is essentially what occurs when an individual or society no longer values life or dignity. “Dehumanization” occurs when members of a society are desensitized to things that Human Beings never allow to occur: murder, rape and pillage. In other words, they are either constantly exposed to this trinity, or they live in a society where these crimes are tolerated or encouraged. Victims of Nazi death camps were “dehumanized” prior to their murder by being shaved, stripped and beaten by guards who were long ago desensitized to it.
