What is the cost difference between closing two schools and building a new school versus renovating the two schools?

This would depend upon which two schools are being impacted. Some schools would only need relatively minor alterations or additions, while others would need major and very costly additions. Some schools have enough land to expand and still leave enough open space for parking, playgrounds, “green space.” Other schools can not be efficiently expanded because of the design of the existing building or the lack of land space. Even with physical upgrades, several of the buildings would still not meet the current requirements for the Americans with Disabilities Act.
