What is the cost of living in Manila Philippines between 2 people?
Manila is the most expensive area to live in the PI. You can easily spend 60-120 thousand Pesos a month there to live in a way you would likely feel comfortable with. Warning: Your future wife will be very excited to receive so much money, and to be honest, it would be like a english girl marrying a man making 80,000 pounds a month. It’s just a huge amount of money to deal with. So sometimes the wife and husband begin supporting the family, by sending relatives to school, paying for hospital fees, gifts, trips, housing, etc. It adds up so fast, so very very fast. My advice is to scout it out, and tell her up front that you will not pay for anything–no gifts, no tuition, no nothing. That way later when she’s used to the money you can decide what to do. Many foreigners buy property through their Filipina spouses, because Filipino’s can own property and UK citizen cannot. But this is a problem as the girl will be satisified once she has a home that she does not need you when it’s paid. M
