What Is the Crystalens® IOL?
Crystalens®, available at our Long Island practice, is an intraocular lens implant designed to improve the vision of patients who have undergone cataract surgery. What is unique about the Crystalens® IOL is that it bends and flexes, mimicking the movements of the eye’s natural lens. Plus, Crystalens® is one of the few accommodating lenses on the market. With accomodating lenses, our Long Island physicians can restore the eyes’ ability to focus on both near and far objects, without the need for corrective eyewear. Approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2003, Crystalens® has a very high rate of success among patients, with many achieving nearly 20/20 vision.
