The Boston Red Sox won the world series in 1918. At the end of teh 1919 season the Red Sox sold Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees for $125,000. AFter this the Red Sox went on a 86 year drought without winning the World Series. In some years they almost won, but something always happened. Bucky Dent, Bill Buckner, and others. In 2004 the Red Sox finnally won the World Series breaking the curse.
