LOS: There is no such thing as a deadline for a specific city. Deadlines are established by specific schools, or by specific financial aid providers. Every school has a priority aid deadline. An applicant who wants to be considered for all possible forms of financial aid takes care to ensure that his/her application materials are submitted prior to that deadline. There are certain types of financial aid that will ONLY be distributed to applicants who meet the priority aid deadline. Other forms of financial aid are available year-round – and for those forms of aid, the priority deadlines have no impact. In fact, the two largest forms of federal student aid, the Stafford loan and the Pell Grant can be applied for at any time.
