What is the difference between 5 inch & 6 inch gutters?
A 5 in. gutter is the standard residential size. A 6 in. gutter is the standard commercial size. Commercial gutters carry a 35% increase in carrying capacity. It is recommended that a leader should be added to a 5 in. seamless gutter about every 35 ft. A 6 in. gutter can handle about 50′ without having to add another leader. 5 in. gutters are usually sufficient for most residential homes.
