What is the difference between a 1 ounce gold bullion coin and a gold bar of the same weight?
Modern bullion coins are popular because they are produced by governments which, in turn, protect the consumer as to weight and purity. Gold bars are produced by reputable firms (Pamp Suisse is a good example) which also protect the consumer as to weight and purity. Both products cost the same and produce the same result so in this case you can pay your money and take your pick. There really is no advantage or disadvantage in either a gold bullion coin or bar. Because of this our “buy” and “sell” price for each product is similar.
