What is the difference between a analog tv and a digital tv?

In the OLD days, electrical signals were created that varied in accordance with the picture levels. It was adequate, but that was about it. Bandwidth was limited since a TV channel HAD to fit within an allocated frequency, so even as technology got better, it didn’t matter. The channel bandwidth took away any improvements. Even in the 1970’s, what with space exploration, more efficient electronics, size considerations, it was known that digital transmission was far superior. Instead of using large chunk of frequency for one mediocre TV channel, you could digitize the picture into 256 levels of brightness and color, giving far superior rendition. Not only that, but any interference simply lost a moment’s worth of picture, not continuous snow and static all through it. The problem was, IC chips were kind of new and you needed thousands of them to do the job. Today, those thousands of chips are now contained in a single chip. With all that long-winded stuff out of the way, analog TV is a
