Modern political governments are built and continue to be strengthened on the dead bodies of poor; so, governments , particularly, a government by UPA/congress will exploit the poor to come to power since, it is by the same way, gandiji, a poor man by self-choice, fell a victim to nehru, ambedkar and other socialists , who usurpsed power for themselves, to impose upon people the policy of reservation, in the name of social justice; the irony is prior to independence of india , from Alexander to Sonia , aliens were ruling as, as invaders; then where is the question of upper castes becoming responsible for suppressing lower castes, and it should have been the failure of those who governed India those days but by being outsiders, why they should be interested in such things and the indian castes cannot be held responsible for any caste issues among them; when the muslim invaders and european christian colonizers came, they brought in their ways of urban life, which required different syst

Nobody asks a rich fellow whether he is a Brahmin, Dalit(!), OBC, Muslim or Christian unless he reveals his name or expresses his identity otherwise (dress, mannerisms, greetings). The richer he is the less is the contrast. Generally he is above all these conflicts. But the poor cannot hide his identity. He lacks the resources or the sophistication to rise above the glaringly proclaimed identity. Plus, he is brainwashed to think that the other fellow (if he is a Brahmin, the others like Dalit, OBC or Muslim – and so on) is the cause for his misery, lack of being skilfully employed &c. He is encouraged to proclaim his identity vigorously, unite with his own ilk and fight others and so on. This struggle, his elbowing his way through an unrelenting crowds – makes him hard, cynical, unforgiving and to find strength in numbers. Politicians all know this. Read Nobel Laureate Elias Canetti’s ‘Crowds & Power’ that was banned by Indira Gandhi during emergency. Politician whether s/he is a Dalit

Poverty cuts across all castes. The reservation system is a creation of the politicians. If they cared about the actual poor, they would not have included the creamy layer in reservations. A person with a family income of Rs 4.5 lakhs per annum is still entitled to reservation because he is “lower caste”. In a country where 70% of the population lives on less than $2 a day including many said “upper castes”, 4.5 lakhs is fairly rich yet they are entitled to reservation based on their “lower caste”. Even the daughter of a former President of India K.R. Narayanan took admission based on reservation. Could somebody enlighten me how a former President and his family are discriminated against that they have to go through reservation!! This whole reservation system is useless and even Ambedekar had planned only to have it for 10 years but it is still continuing and infact ever increasing. What we need is free and compulsory universal education for all instead of reservations. We need a solid
