What is the difference between a child psychologist and a clinical social worker?

I believe a child psychologist is a psychologist that deals with the mental side of a child, and helping them work through things that are troubling them, also i believe it’s for generally any child….a clinical social worker actually is in the field with the child, and forsees that they are being treated right, mainly i think for foster children, and children in broken homes…i may be wrong though…

A psychologist has to have more training than a social worker.

Child psychologist has a Masters or PHd in psychology, with a specialty in treating children. Clinical social worker usually has an MSW from a Social Work school, but they can also have a PHD. They may or may not have advanced training in treating children.

One is a psychologist, and one is a social worker. They are completely different things.
