Becoming a chiropractor, or a medical doctor, requires the study of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, biochemistry, and many other scientific subjects related to human health and disease. The difference is that during the final year or so the emphasis in medical school is on pharmacology and surgery. The emphasis in chiropractic school is on the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal conditions, spinal misalignments, subluxations, biomechanical problems and x-ray diagnosis. Becoming either a medical doctor or a chiropractor requires a clinical internship before getting a degree. Both chiropractors and medical doctors must pass tough examinations given by both national and state boards before becoming licensed. Chiropractic provides a holistic, common sense approach to health. This is the reason that more and more people are looking to chiropractic to obtain and maintain total body health.  more
