What is the difference between a diner and a restaurant?

They are basically the same. I work in a restaurant. BUT, it used to be a diner, then they added a dining room, a banquet room, and a bar. We go by restaurant now, but a lot of people still call it a diner. We have the little jukeboxes in the “diner” part with a jukebox. It’s all the same food wise. The same prices and everything. I personally would rather eat at a diner though. It’s just an old-time thing that is outdated but still around. Long live the diners!!!!
