What is the difference between a field instructor and a faculty field liaison?
Much support is provided to insure that your experiences in the field are educationally meaningful and that you are supported in your learning endeavor. Once the Office of Field Education has determined your practicum, you will begin working with your field instructor and faculty field liaison. Your field instructor is an agency staff member and usually an MSW, who arranges assignments for you in his or her agency, and supervises and evaluates your work in the practicum. A faculty field liaison is also assigned to work with you throughout your internship experience. The primary role of the faculty liaison is to serve as the person who bridges the relationships between you, your field instructor, and the Office of Field Education.
