What is the difference between a for-profit and not-for-profit business?
• A for-profit business divides its earnings among its investors, and a not-for-profit puts its earnings back into the organization. In the case of ERH, we are able to raise funds from donors to support our programs and services, and to pay for things on behalf of our residents which are not covered by Medicare – such as hearing aids, scooters, and dentures.
