A French Manicure focuses on providing natural looking nails with a white tip and a pink base. An American Manicure is usually a white tip with light beige or neutral base.  more

Actually an American Manicure is the more natural choices the base as with french is usually light piknk or clear. However, the color on the free edge is more of an off-white, like natural nails are.  I have yet to meet the person who has white nails naturally.
