What is the difference between a masseuse and a massage therapist?
Many clients wonder why we refer to ourselves as massage therapists. After all, the definition of “masseuse” is “a woman who practices massage.” (a man who practices massage is a “masseur.”) However, in this country, the word “masseuse” is often used as a euphemism for “prostitute.” Therefore, massage professionals rarely use the term to describe their services.
