A notification letter is sent to property owners and tenants notifying them of the violation giving a set time frame to take care of the violation. If the violation is not taken care upon the second inspection then all documentation is turned over to the city attorneys office to issue a citation. A citation is the document that makes the violation official requiring a fine to be paid.
