What is the difference between a promotions company and an agency?
An agency represents a large client base. They do not charge any up front fees to be represented by them, but instead operates on a commission scale. A promotions company has a much smaller client base, enabling them to individually promote each client for work. Promotions companies usually charge a fee to sign with them, but because they have fewer clients, they are more likely to successfully market you and help you make industry connections. They do not receive any commission for jobs they find for you.
