What is the difference between a single honours and joint honours degree in Management?
The difference between these two degrees emerges in the honours years (that is, the third and fourth year of study). During these years there is a mix of compulsory and optional courses which students take. For a single honours student all their courses (save for a few modules which can be taken from outwith the School with permission from the School) will be management courses. As a result, they will have a greater depth and breadth of management knowledge compared to a joint honours student. A joint honours student normally takes 50% of their courses in Management with 50% in their other topic (noting that there is the possibility to take minor/major degrees in Management and Modern Languages). In this way, they have exposure to the key principles of Management and the key principles of their other subject area.
