What is the difference between a Wiccan, a Pagan, a Ceremonial Magician and a Witch?

Wiccan: A person who follows the religion of Wicca. By definition, this person is always religious. Pagan: A polytheist who worships pre-Christian deities. Under this definition, a pagan is always religious. May also refer to anyone who does not practice Christianity, Judaism, or Islam. Under this second definition, the person may or may not be religious. Ceremonial Magician: One who practices a particular type of hermetic magic. This person may or may not be religious. Witch: A person who practices at least one of the many different systems of magic. This person may or may not be religious. I don’t follow the religion of Wicca, so I don’t use that term. I am a pagan but I prefer to use the term “polytheist” because it is more descriptive of the definition that I want to use. Occasionally, I use the term “neo-pagan” to distinguish myself from the people living in ancient times who were practicing their indigenous way of life.
