Allopathic medicine is what we have come to know as traditional Western medicine. There are 125 allopathic medical schools in the continental US. Osteopathic medicine builds musculoskeletal manipulation and a greater emphasis on preventive medicine into the curriculum. There are 26 osteopathic medical schools in the continental US.  more
