Accountants provide a range of financial services and advice, including bookkeeping. However, they will generally charge a higher hourly rate than bookkeepers. In many cases they will outsource your bookkeeping to an independent bookkeeper and will apply their costs on top. If you choose to give all of your financial requirements to an accountant, check how they will charge you for basic bookkeeping, VAT returns, PAYE returns, payroll, liaising with HMRC and writing letters.  more
