What is the difference between an elevation map & a land form map?
Landform maps use different colors to show different landforms. Landform maps are fairly easy to make. Choose colors to represent different landforms and then shade areas on your map to show where these landforms are. Use the key to show what the different colors mean. It’s best to choose only 4 to 5 landforms for this part (think mountains, plains, hills, deserts, etc.). You can add additional unique features after you have the basic features. ————- Elevation maps use color to show the elevation of a place. Making an Elevation Map – first choose colors to represent a range of elevation. For example: Green = 0 to 2,500 ft. Yellow = 2,500 to 5,000 ft. Brown = 5,000 to 7,500 ft. Pink = 7,500 to 10,000 ft. Use the colors you choose to show elevations in different locations on your map.
