Lawyers are regulated by the Law Society of Upper Canada whereby Immigration Consultants are regulated by the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants. New regulations have been put in place to regulate Immigration Consultants and to prevent misrepresentation. Just like lawyers, Immigration Consultants are recognized by Citizenship & Immigration Canada and are authorizaed to deal with this government body as third party representatives.
