What is the difference between an Intrauterine Insemination(IUI) and an Intracervical Insemination(ICI)?

Regular (also known as raw, or ICI) samples are intended for vaginal insemination. IUI-ready or washed samples have been processed before freezing so they can be used for intrauterine insemination. IUI’s must be performed using sterile technique (either in our office or in your home), because a catheter is inserted into the uterus. IUIs usually have a higher pregnancy success rate, up to double that of ICIs.
