There is a very subtle difference between organic and inorganic compounds. The following is the main difference 1.Organic compounds are those which contain hydrogen and carbon bonds for example CH4 (methane), C2H5OH (ethanol), acetic acid (CH3COOH) etc while inorganic compounds doesn’t have carbon hydrogen bonds for example carbon dioxide(CO2) , Phosphorus Pentoxide (P2O5) Potassium nitrate (KNO3) There are some other differences but they are not 100% true. for example 2.Inorganic compounds can make salt but organic compounds can not. 3.Inorganic compounds have metal atoms but organic compounds don’t have metal atoms. 4.organic compounds are biological but inorganic compounds are mineral in nature.
