Lockout (industry) – work stoppage initiated by an employer Strike action – work stoppage initiated by the employees Disablement – work stoppage or reclassification caused by: a) legally incapable: disqualified, court order, etc. b) medically incapable: crippled, unfit, doctor’s orders, etc. Permanent partial and permanent total disablement may be initiated by both, either or neither the employer or the employee(s).
