What is the difference between chimpanzees, monkeys,apes,gorillas and baboons?
Monkeys are a type of primate, more advanced than prosimians (lemurs, bushbabies, etc.) but not as advanced as apes. All monkeys have tails, though they are small in some species, like mandrills. The first answer mentions prehensile tails – not all monkeys’ tails are prehensile. This feature is only found in New World monkeys like capuchins. Baboons are a type of monkey.
