Comic mode (Simplex) Images are lined up side by side. Simplex is common in lower reduction ratios like 24X Cine mode (Simplex) Single line of images is continuous Duplex mode (Cine) Front and back of documents appear side by side Duplex is common in higher reductions like 40X and 50X because the reduction is high enough to fit both front and back next to each other on 16mm roll film.
