What is the difference between credit transfer, RPL, RCC and Skills Recognition?

0

Credit Transfer is a process by which a learner can have previously completed study counted or ‘credited’ towards a course(s) which they are undertaking or intend to undertake. Credit transfer arrangements are made by the owners of courses where there is agreement that the outcomes of each course or module(s) are sufficiently equivalent in content and level for credit to be granted. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) involves recognition of knowledge and skills from life or work experience and any training the learner may have undertaken. RPL, Recognition of Current Competence (RCC) and Skills Recognition are used interchangeably and essentially mean the same thing. A useful resource called “RPL – Your First Step” has been developed to assist RTOs in understanding and making RPL processes more accessible to a greater diversity of individuals and industry clients.
