The word “aggression” has confused many people in here and it has become a taboo word in our society that is full or “experts” in dog behaviour. Dominance is simply the dog’s desire to dominate and influence his environment in a way that he views as positive. It can be done with other animals, humans, etc. A dominant dog is not a bad dog, it is not a dangerous dog….so long as that dominance is balanced with pack drive. All of my dogs have serious dominance issues, I demand that from them when I buy them, but, that dominance is also channelled and expressed in ways that I , as the pack leader see fit. Aggression…you know, the “bad” word is here is a wonderful trait of a dog’s temperament. Without aggression a dog would not be able to survive, without it there would be no mating, no anything that requires a certain amount of forward action.
