What is the difference between fluorescent and compact fluorescent light bulbs?
The primary difference is size; compact fluorescent bulbs are made in special shapes to fit into standard household lighting fixtures designed for incandescent light bulbs. Compact fluorescent light bulbs have an “integral” ballast built in whereas most fluorescent tubes require a separate ballast independent of the bulb.
