What is the difference between Goddess worship and Wicca?

0

Goddess worship is the worship of a Goddess as the primary, and sometimes only deity. Wicca is a faith that, save some traditions, worships both divine genders with near equality. Admittedly, many Wiccans put a bit more emphasis on the Mother Goddess. Men, however, are not considered lesser in any sense in the Wiccan faith, and male deities are not considered less affective than the female versions. In a goddess worshiping faith female deities have complete prominence over their male counterparts, if any even exist. So, the difference is more in the definition, and in the beliefs of the Wiccan in question.

Goddess worship is just that – the worshipping of a goddess or of goddesses. Anybody could worship a goddess of their choosing and would not be Wiccan. Several people in other religions do worship a goddess or multiple goddesses. Wicca is a religion/faith that worships the God and the Goddess (for most Wiccans, at least). While it does involve Goddess worship, it involves a bit more as well.
