The tank of a hermetically sealed transformer is made up of cooling fins (corrugated tank). The expansion of oil due to temperature / pressure increase in absorbed by elasticity of cooling fins and inert gas cushion. The tank of a conservator type transformer is made up of radiators or pipes wherein the expansion of oil due to temperature / pressure increase is taken up by the conservator.
