What is the difference between HipHop & Breakdance?
Hip Hop is a culture and is broad… The most familiar dancing of Hip Hop would be popping, locking, freestyling, etc. Even though Krumping & House & Pop are also considered to be “Hip Hop”, they didn’t originate from Hip Hop culture. Breakdance is a branch of HipHop which in its simplest form could be defined as inverted tricks “dancing on your hands”. Excellent upper torso strength is required to master this style of dance. The “Hip Hop” links the tricks together for a high energy performance. Dance Exams? The Dance exams take place throughout the year. tentative for 2009/2010 = Jazz December, Tap April, Ballet June Examiner availability is the key factor to confirming exam dates. Exams are based on each particular associations’ syllabus and their guidelines for proper execution of movement within each discipline.
