What is the difference between internal and external halyard flagpoles?
External halyard flagpoles have the halyard rope and cleat on the outside of the pole. Once the flag is raised into position the halyard rope is secured by wrapping around the cleat. Internal halyard flagpoles have an anti vandal system. The halyard rope is inside the flagpole and is only accessible via a small lockable door. Once the flag is raised into position, the halyard is secured against a sprung cleat inside the pole and the door can be fitted and locked.
An External Halyard Flagpole System places the rope on the outside of the flagpole. The rope is exposed on the outside of the flagpole and travels through a pulley mounted at the top of the flagpole.
The Internal Halyard Flagpole System conceals the rope on the inside of the flagpole. Internal Halyard flagpoles are more expensive than comparable external halyard flagpoles but they offer a more streamlined look and security.
