What is the difference between intracellular fluid and interstitial fluid?

0

Intracellular fluid is fluid inside the cells whereas interstitial fluid is fluid outside and between the cells. The interstitial fluid is one of the components of your bodies extracellular fluid (ECF). The other part is your blood plasma. Water is not an ion. Sodium is low inside the cell whereas potassium is high inside the cell. Calcium is also low inside the cell, but has a significantly smaller gradient compared to other ions. Chloride is low inside the cell as well, in comparison to the interstitial space.
