Essentially, they must meet the following guidelines: Landscape Designer • Have formal design education and advanced horticultural knowledge • Provide conceptual design ideas, landscape plans, planting plans, irrigation plans, and lighting plans • Usually have better sense of creativity and artistic sense of the spaces • Provide garden design ideas and environmental management • Work with both hardscape (concrete, walls, decks etc.) and softscape (plants, lawns, soil, etc.
