What is the difference between LCD Brightness and Display Brightness?
Our numbers on LCD Brightness is the LCD Module manufacturer’s claimed maximum output. This is for comparison purpose because many company in this industry state this brightness number as the brightness of their monitor. This often could be misleading because the actual or typical output is in general lower than the maximum output. Therefore, we have also listed out our laboratory tested brightness number under Display Brightness. Please note that the maximum output claimed by the LCD Module manufacturer (LCD Brightness) is achieved by driving the CCFL so hard that it dramatically decreases the life of the CCFL. The reason why there is a discrepancy between LCD Brightness rating and our Display Brightness rating is because we use recommended CCFL inverter output to drive the CCFL to achieve typical output and we also took into account the lost of brightness through A/D board and/or Touchscreen panel.
