Leave is time off that is taken from ones leave account. In the USMC leave is accumulated at the rate of 2.5 days off per month. Leave can be used with permission almost whenever. Liberty might be given for any holliday where you could receive anywhere from 24-96 hours off. There are different types of liberty. Some types allow you to leave the base, others don’t. It’s all the decision of your command. Depending on your commands decisions you may or may not be able to stay out over night, report-in etc.
