What is the difference between lower and upper division coursework?
Lower-division courses are introductory courses for first and second year students. These courses are numbered from 1 – 99. Upper-division courses are specialized and advanced courses that require significant writing or prerequisite course work for second, third or fourth year students. These courses are numbered 100 – 199. You should enroll only in lower-division courses this quarter.
